Therapy

Therapy provides a safe space for those seeking to improve their emotional and social functioning to better their overall satisfaction and quality of life. It provides the opportunity to explore oneself, family issues, past influences, current pains or wounds, and gain ways to facilitate positive change moving forward. Therapy is especially helpful if you are dealing with managing mental, emotional, and behavioral issues that you find unhelpful, even destructive, in your present-day life, relationships, career, and overall well-being. Each client will participate in one-on-one sessions and create an individualized treatment plan in collaboration with the provider. Treatment methods may vary based on presenting issues, identified unique needs, diagnosis, and goals. A comprehensive assessment will be conducted by the clinician, and clients will be asked to complete symptom questionnaires to aid in the identification of need/s. Diagnostic criteria are based on the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, 5th Edition (DSM-V), which is used by mental health professionals to identify and treat client symptoms. Therapy sessions will include a holistic, creative, trauma-informed care approach. Various evidenced-based interventions are utilized, which are research-based and have been shown to be effective in helping alleviate the pains that bind us, foster individual growth and enhance ways to live a healthier more fulfilling life.

Trauma

TRAUMA is subjective in that we can all experience the same or similar events and have a different response, which means it may be traumatizing for one person but not for another. Regardless, trauma can be detrimental to our mind, body and spirit. Traumatic incidents can impact our daily lives, connection with others, mental and physical health and essential areas of functioning. It can have short-term and long-term psychological, emotional and behavioral implications as trauma can alter the brain’s structure and functioning.

Anxiety

ANXIETY is a normal emotional response, as everyone experiences nervousness, stress or worry at times in their life. It serves as a signal from our brains that something is occurring that needs to be addressed. Each person can feel anxiety differently and with varying intensities. However, anxiety can also be a mental health condition that can be an overwhelming emotion that affects our ability to work, engage in fun activities, have healthy relationships and live a functional and fulfilling life.

Depression

DEPRESSION can be a serious mental health disorder that many people experience. It is more than just feeling sad, down or tired when things get hard or stressful. Depression can manifest itself in different forms and severities, from feelings of persistent feelings of sadness and hopelessness to high-functioning depression, which may be seen in overachieving behaviors.
